Quality

The management of Boylson Pty Ltd is committed to operating every aspect of our business to standards that offer the highest possible quality of service to our clients. This is reinforced through our progressive management style and a culture of quality throughout the organisation.

Boylson Pty Ltd quality system is accredited to AS / ISO 9001:20015. Modifications to this system are necessary to meet the specific requirements of the projects.

Management oversees continuous improvements to our Quality Management System. This takes place across all areas of the company and ensures we operate effectively and efficiently and meets the needs of our customers.

With regard to the work we do, Boylson Pty Ltd is responsible for the quality control of our construction, demolition and engineering works, as well as necessary inspections and tests as required to ensure that the work complies with contractual documentation. Our project management team is on hand to deal with any issues.

Through our program of learning and development, Boylson Pty Ltd staff are able to provide expertise in the investigation and handling of significant or unique quality issues. All personnel are aware of our commitment to quality and are encouraged to demonstrate their own support to the system by continuous active participation.

Safety

Our commitment to safety is real and has been brought to life through our own Safety Management Plan. It is also evident through our forming of activity-specific Safe Work Method practices, ensuring all employees and sub-contractors are fully aware of the Boylson Pty Ltd safety protocol.

We strive to ensure safety guidelines and practices meet the same high standards we put into our work. With many of our sites being occupied, we have gained considerable experience over the years in dealing with the sensitive nature of such works. Our record speaks for itself through positive feedback and accident-free workplaces.

We are continuing to seek improvements in all areas of our operation. This includes workplace training for our employees to improve their own knowledge and skills.

In short, quality and safety underpin everything we do at S&A Contracting.

The objectives of our Safety Policy are:

  • To achieve an accident-free workplace;

  • To make WHS an integral part of every managerial and supervisory position;

  • To ensure WHS is considered in all planning and work activities;

  • To involve our employees in the decision-making processes through regular communication, consultation and training;

  • To provide a continuous program of education and learning to ensure that our employees work in the safest possible manner;

  • To identify and control all potential hazards in the workplace through hazard identification and risk analysis;

  • To ensure all potential accidents/incidents are controlled and prevented; and

  • To provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees.

The success of our WHS is dependent on several factors.

Primarily, our work teams must be aware of all processes and potential WHS risks and be committed to achieving our objectives above. This is achieved through open communication between management and all employees and by ensuring that proactive planning takes place for all activities and that WHS controls are relevant to the situation.

ESD and Environment

Boylson Pty Ltd is committed to delivering successful projects while actively minimising environmental impact and promoting sustainable outcomes. To this end, Boylson is conscious of the construction industry impact on Australia’s carbon footprint and actively engages in best practice to avoid unnecessary burden to the local environment. This sense of responsibility and ownership of the local environment is a philosophy shared by Director Max Boyle and in turn shared amongst all Boylson personnel.

Australia’s National Strategy for Ecologically Sustainable Development (1992) defines Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) as 'using, conserving and enhancing the community's resources so that ecological processes, on which life depends, are maintained, and the total quality of life, now and in the future, can be increased'.

ESD is something that Boylson Pty Ltd take very seriously and endeavour to incorporate across all levels of operations.

Boylson Pty Ltd has achieved accreditation to the ISO14001:2015. Throughout the business operations, S&A has always aimed to minimize the amount of business impact on the environment. This is evident in the recommendation of Ecological Sustainable Developments whenever tendering on projects. In addition, we recycle as much material as possible from the site.

When undertaking any project, we seek to understand the impact on the immediate and greater environment. Our management plan outlines the procedures and practices to be adopted on projects to achieve this, including requirements of clients and regulatory authorities.

As part of the site induction process, all workers are briefed on specific environmental issues and protective measures applicable to their project. Full instructions are given regarding procedures relating to environmental accidents and complaints.

All company and subcontractor workers engaged on Boylson projects are provided with a full understanding of - and their responsibility to comply with - the environmental requirements of the project.

Recycling is a major way in which Boylson ensures our operations are maximising our role in sustainability. All recyclable materials are taken to the appropriate recyclers and measures have been implemented to ensure waste is disposed of correctly in accordance with WHS legislation and EPA Guidelines.
